The Axickland Woolbrokers1 Association,held the first sale of the'season to-day. The bidding waa not brisk, and there was a decline in prices. This was only to be expected..'. Tlie market in England is overstocked, owing to the great production in the Argentine, while, there ii a change in fashion in wool. Prices realised, although low, were fully on the level of Landori prices. - Messrs Murgatroyd and- Price were the only southern buyers present, and they" purchased freely' throughout. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company offered-in-all 95-1 bales, and 325 lots passed. Messrs^ Alfred Buckland and Soils submitted 403 lots, .representing 1G22 bales. Some coarse Lincoln, passed, but most of the lots catalogued were sold. The wool was in. better condition .and superior in. get-up compared with last year. Prices in niany instances were up to the reserves, aii'l some lots exceeded the value put.on them. Long wools brought lid to £d below last year's prices, and crossbreds and Kalfbrcds 2d lec=.
