CAROL SERVICE.

At St. Mary's Church, Herbert, a carol service was held on Christmas Sve, and attracted a large congregation. -The church looked very attractive with its decorations; the altar, with vases of white (lowers and handsome bouquets placed on it, looked particularly striking The font, lectern, organ, and various archways were also decorated with evergreens and ilowerf. Various suitable hymns and carols were sung, the carols being— "Good Christian men rejoice," "The First Nowell," and "Good ICiog Wtnceslas." The offertorium " Nazareth " was sung by Mr Foweraker The car« and cultivation which marked the character of the service reflected great credit on Mrs' Andrew Frame, who had all the hard work of training the choir ami decorating, being ably assisted with the lattpr by Misses Hoyes and Kirtoa. Miss Laura Blathwayt presided at the organ, and the' Key. Wyntcr Blathwayt (the vicar) was the preacher.
