SCHOOL VACATIONS.

SANDYMOUNT SCHOOL.

On Thursday last the Sandymount School broke up for the holidays. The teacher gave a short lesson on mental arithmetic and grammar, ithichthe children performed with gieat expedition and accuracy, Songs"were Chen sung by the children, and the chairman (Mr W. Robertson) complimented the teachers on their jear's work and the progress made by the school. The prizes were then awarded, and the holidajs defined to be «ix clear weeks .from .the following Monday. The children thereafter gave cheer» for; the coinmittes, tbe chairman, and the teachers.
