Devilers (a member of. the Colonial party, reoresenting Cochin China) stated that 'British rnacoeavriug: had csused thfe recent wars in Siam and Madagascar. He said that he held official' proof that Englishmen had incited the assassination of Frenchmen there. The statement created a sensation.
M. Hanotaux announced that France would not permit the British to interfere iv Madagascar.
