The Otago Rugby Union's representative team returned to Dunsdin from • their ncrthera tour by the express train on Tuesday night, and were . welcomed on arrival by a tremendous crowd of people, the railway station and its precincts being quite blocked with a living mats. '- As the train came into the station a roar of cheering was set up, and this was renewed again and again before ths members of the team, who acknowledged their reception by three lusty cheers and a hoarse war-cry, were driven of in a four-horse drag to the European Hotel, where another informal welcome awaited them. The Otago representatives speak in tero>s of. high appreciation of the treatment received by them during their tour—particularly at Auckland,—but they do not admit that they leunt anything, from a football point of view, on their trip. The Match Committee of the Otago team met after their arrival last night arid decided that the fifteon who represented the union in tbe match at Wellington should be pitted against the team chosen to oppose them on Saturday next iv view of the return match against Southland, which" is to be played next week; >. .
