GOLF.

TIIE OTAGO CLUB. . On FriSay afternoon a boys' match was played on the OSago Golf Links. The weather was excellent, and there were 21 entries. Only 17 holes were played, as the time was limited to suit the convenience of-the boys attending school. The play all through was first-class, and the ladiea and gentlemen who kindly volunteered to act as umpire's and scorers were in some measure repaid for their trouble by the general interest and enthu»iaam of the young players. The first prize (a watch, given by Dr Brown) was won by Robert Smith, the second and third by Stanley aad Matthew Smith respectively. Mrs Ogston, in the abeecce of the captain, presented the prizes, which were received with great acclamation; and, after some light refreshments had been passed round, the boys dispersed, giving three cheers for the ladies. The following are a few of the scores handed in:— Groaa. Hep. Net. Robert Smith ... ... 104 - 104 i Stanley Smith 114 !) 10a 1 Ma"thL Smith... ...-110 4 10(i i Samuel Kingston ...
