Sib, —I would like to point oat through the medium of yonr papsr the vagaries of a handioapper. To start with, at the T&htraa Park meeting, Bedate had 2-sae from Telephone, now at the forthcoming Anniversary meeting Bedale is asked to give Telephone 2»eo, although Telephone beat Bedile at Tahuna Park. Ravenswing had 3foec at Tahuna, now she is brought back to the 27sec nntk for not starting, although Bounding Stone and Minnie Grey are left on the same mark. Bailie gave Lngnaquilla 7aec in a oae aad a-half mile at Lawrence and be»t him, but Lugnaquilla is now anked to give Biilie 2sec in two miles. Duchess won a mile and s-half trot last November in tain. lOsec, Lagnaquilla's best time is 4rain 19£aec, yet Lugnaquilla is now asked to give her lsec in a mile. Little Pet won the Maiden Trot at Tnhuua, one mile aud a-half, doing the distance in 4-min llsec. Now, although Lugnsquilla's time at his bent is iano 19£ see he is asked to grre her 2sec in a mile. What I would l<ke to ask Mr Dowse is—Does he handicap on timo, if not, how does he frame his haadicaps p—Yours traly, Gore, March 10. Fairplay.
