The Cromwell Argns states tbat Mr Dawson has an orchard in Conroy's Gully comprising 50 acres, fully planted. He finds a readymarket for his fruit in Dunedin, sending in tm produce twice a week during the season, .yy. Three of the members of Mr B. W. Dcci family, of Nelson, were poisoned through eating tinned sardines. Another young lady, a visitor, was also similarly affected. All are happily now out of danger. ■ The estimated expenditure of the New South Wales Fire Brigades' Board for the current year is £18,900, of which the municipal councils, insurauce companies, and Government each contribute £6300.
