FOOTBALL.

The annual meeting of the Rangers' Association Football Club was held on Monday, the 9th inst., when the president (Ray. A. North) occupied the chair. A good number of members were present, and six new m.mbers were elected.

elected) ; vice-presidents—Messrs T. A. Maitland, J. Simon, and F. Hilliker (re-elected), and Messrs J. H. M'Laren, J. Williams, and Rev. J. J. North ; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. W. North ; assistant secretary, Mr N. Reid ; oommittee—the captain, secretary, and Messrs R. O'Connor, T. Ashton, W. M'Lachlan, and P. Peters; trainer, Mr W. M'Lachlan; delegates to the Otago Football Association —the captain and Mr T. Ashton; auditors—Messrs C. E Beckingsale and D. Calder.

It was decided to send a team to Oamaru early iv the season. The resignation of Mr R. O'Conßor as captain (owing to his inability to play this year) was received with general regret, the club losing in him an enthusiastic player. Thanks were accorded to the Otago Harbour Board for the use of the ground, and to the retiring officers, special mention being made of Mr William Duncan, the lajf) secretary. The report showed the club to be in a flourishing condition, last season four teams having been put in the field (two on Saturdays and two on Wednesdays). The Saturday First Eleven were runners-up for the championship, aud only lost one mitch—that against the Roslyn Club. Matches played. 12 ; won, 10 ; drawn, 1; lost, 1; goals for, 59 ; against, 16. The Wednesday A team held the pusitiou of premier of the Wednesday elevens. Matches played, 9; won, 6 ; drawn. 3; lost, 0; goals for, 40; against, 17. The team played an eleven from the White Star Club (Oamaru) on May 21, coming off victors by six goals to one. The Wednesday.B team did as well as might be expected, considering that every member was new to the game, and in the coming season no doubt would be able to show a better record.
