DR JAMESON'S TRIAL.

At the trial of Dr Jameson the evidence showed that before the expedition started tba troopers suspected it was intended to fight the Boers, as Major Coventry and Major Grey hinted they were going to Johannesburg to fight for the supremacy of the British flag. The troopers complained they were kept in ignorance of the real intention of the expedition, and Major Grey answered that it was necessary to leava these things to the officers.
