In tb.B House of Commons, in replying, before the final vote was taken on the naval programme, Mr Gosohon said the Government programme ought not to afford provocation to any Power, sines it was arranged in November, before any o£ the recant international complications had arisen. Great Britain had menaced no one, and would preserve a friendly attitude'to all, unless her interests were attacked.
The question of the construction of light railways was referred to the Committee on Trade. Tbe Postrassler-gensral (the Duke of Norfolk) and Mr Hanbary (Financial Secretary to the Treasury), in reply to questions, both said that until tenders were called for a fast Atlantic service they could not indicate to what extent the Imparial Government would be prepared to snbsidise such a service. Sydney, March 11. The Premier (Mr Beid) has instructed the Agent-general to support the Imperial Bill legalising colonial marriages with a deceased wife's sister. The South Australian Government have given similar instructions.
