LYELL CREEK COMPANY.

Lyell. February 20. Lyell Creek. —The mine manager reports :—A small body of stone came in last night from the touth end of the winze. It is Ift in width, shows gold, and when crushed gives a fair prospect. It will take a few days before anything definite can be kuown, as the winze will have to be blocked up, and a windlass and brace fixed. The Chinamen have just celebrated their New Year, and from the money spent some seem to have done well. A good deal of money changed hands at their favourite game, fan-tan.

The Cromwell Argus reports :—Jones and party have got about 15 tons of stone at grass on the Carrick from the reef recently discovered. Prospects give about 2oz to the ton.—We hear tbat it is not improbable that dredgini; claims will shortly be taken up in tbe Nevis River, the locality being from the School Creek upwards to the township.

The' correspondent of the Auckland Herald reports favourably on the new developments at the Kapanga mine. At a depth of 300 ft a lode 3in to (lin wide has been intersected in promising country, and shows good gold when pounded.

FROM "A CHAT WITH A CYCLING

CORRESPONDENT."

" Where are your other models ? " " Buried, my good friend. We have confined our efforts to the handling of two machines—one for gentlemen and one for ladies. By reducing the number of patterns we are able to give the highest value, as our contracts with tho manufacturers run up to nearly 500 cycles The wheels we are offering are equal to machines at £25 to £30 ; you cannot get better." " How do you sell so cheap ? " "By contracting for qoantities and doing a hustling business. £23 10s was tho price of tho ' Colonial Star,' but we now give far better value for £20."

Send for catalogue. All duplicate parts priced and illustrated. No moro costly repairs.
