Miss Messenger was not on board tbo Pearl. The hull of ths vessel was found 500 yds from the scene of the accident.
Operations begin to-day, which will probably reveal the bodies of a number of tho victims.
The number of drowned and missing has now been reduced to 24.
Further heavy rains have fallen at the head of the Brisbane river, whioh is rising rapidly, and another flood is feared. At Woodford Tin of rain have fallen, and the Y/ater is 4ft over the bridges. At other places 3in and 45n oE rain have fallen.
