The river at Rockhampton is slowly subsiding. Tbe wharves are still inundated. Roports from the Mackenzie district state that "the flood there is of unprecedented height. There are enormous losses of stock. One mob of 600 cattle and 13 horses was swept bodily away. The drovers took refuge in trees, where they remained for a day and a-half. Altogether they were four days without food.

The body of Tovera, one of those drowned by the capsizing of the steamer Pearl, has been recovered.
