SLY GROG-SELLING.
(Per United Peess Association.) Wanganui, February 18. At the Police Court to-day, before Mr Kettle, S.M., David Creech and Milliccnt Creech, alias Amelia Thornton, were convicted of sly grogselliug at Mangaweka, near Huntorville. The accused had been convicted on eight charges previously. Mr Kettle, in sentencing Creech, said that the extreme penalty was utterly inadequate for such a rau-e where a man was an incorrigible sly grog-seller, and sentenced him to six montns' hard labour. The charge was withdrawn against the wife, who is ill.
