The directors in submitting their report and balance shflot for tho year endtOß the 31st of December 1895, state :-The settlement of the " Waipori difficulty " took such \\ lodr time that tho directors hnd wine dams constructed to provent tho rivor beiug interfered with, but the result w»s not very Bntisfactory ;as soon, however, as tho injunction won removod from the Jutland Flat Company, and th« dredge had more freedom, the returns were much better, and the directors are of opinion that thby • will be dividend payinE intbo future. The No. 1 Dredge has just been thoroughly overhauled, and is in a good state of repair, and tho cost of working has lieon considerably reduced. Tho retiring directors are Mkbtoi Junes H?ss and Uicbard Flllins. Both
are eligible, and offer thomßolves for ro-electioni The auditor, Mr Thomas Callendor, also offers himself for re'-eloction.
The balance nheet shows that jEIO9S 17a 7d wob paid in wages, £671 5i 3d for coal, £151 0s 7d for dredge renewals, and £144 is 9d for the wiDg dam. The receipts from gold won amounted to £3101183. .■■•■.■ ■■■..■■■■.■
