Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyrieht. Brisbane, October 18.The schooner Sarah Pile, from New Zsalaod to Rockhampton with a cargo of timber, wa» stranded yesterday morning on Breaksea Spit. The crow stood by tfll ■niftht, and then landed at Sandy Capo. They sufierod greatly from exposure to the heavy breakers. The schooner afterwards floated off, aod wss last seen drlftiog 17 miles to the westward of tfae^ape, water-logged. The Government steamer has left for the purpose of securing her.

A private cablegram has been received by Mr Malcolm Nicco! of the abandonment of the schooner Sarah Pile, timber laden, from the Thames to Bookbampton, ofi S»ndfly Cape, Queensland. The vessel and freight were insured in the AUidnco office.
