The weekly meeting of the committee of the Otago Rugby Football Union, held yesterday afternoon, was attended by Messrs Denuiston (ia the chair), Duncan, Isaacs, M'Laren, Strong, Torrance, and Hutchison. An intimation was received from the ''-.Southland Rugby Union agreeing to the 17th -August being decided npon as the date of the match between Soutbl-nd and Otago in Dnnediri.. A letter wag read from the Canterbury Rogby Union stating that it was proposed to play Otago on the 7th September. The secretary was instructed to reply seceptiug the date suggested. Correspondence was read from'the Matakanui and St. Balhans; Club 3 with reference »o the point submitted to the union by the referae in an unfinished match bst i-een iha team* on the 29ch June, aud, there being.a direct conflict as to the facts, the committee deeidod to recommend the elnbs to meet again. It was agreed to award the Taieri Club the Junior Flag match Taieri v. Pacific, which .should have' been played on Saturday. ,'-..... The N'tu AKuriri Club suggests the 2<Uh August as a cocyecieutdate, but the junior championship of Otsgo'willnot have been then decided.
