THE CHINESE LOAN.

St. Petersburg, July 21. The Russian portion of the Chinese lean has beßn subssribed fivefold, and the Paris portion fifteecfold.

The following particulars of the loan are given by The Times :—" The contract made by China is for a 4 per cent, loan of 400,000,000fr, radeciniibk in 36 years by a cuisn.lative halfl yearly sinkioe fund. The loan is inconvertible for 15 years, and it is stipulated that China is not to ciu&ract another loan before the end of the presant year The loan is secured on the customs revenues of the treaty ports, a feature which was not expected in tome quarters, and it is further secured by au absuluts guarantee from the Imperial Ruwian Government. If the funds necessary for the payment of coupons should nofc ba forthcoming on a specified day before tho due date of any coupon, ths Russian Treasury would at odes arrange for remitting to the various bankers charged with the service of the loari the sums required.
