PENINSULA RIFLE CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Peninsula Rifle Ciub, was held in ths club's hall, Sandyzaottnt, on Saturday ; the captain of the club (Mr L. D. Roberts) in thß chair. There was a good attendance of members/ The chairman inkmated that he had received a circular from J&e Defence department stating that the. usual grant of 100 rounds of ammunition per man would not be given this year. Tha treasurer's balance; sheet was considered very satisfactory, and showed that the committee had not been idle during their term of office. The following gentlemen •; were elected onice - bearers for the ensuing yeas:—Secretary, and treasurer, Mr W. Fergusson; and Messrs Geo. Hutchek ßOri,- Archibald M'Kay jun., Joseph Brown, -Arthur Hall, Wm. Robertson, and James Heil, meVbsrs of committee. It was resolved to hold V concert in the hall on the 2nd August, to-help .to defray the cost of a reom which has been adc>d to the hall. The resol* of the last serie3 of six-shooting competitions for prizes is r-s follows :—First-class : JSIr Wm. Robertson, 365, 1; Mr Alex. Porterfield, 353, 2; John Ridd1e,333,3. Stcond-class: Mr KobertW^eir. 318,1; Mr Arthur tall, 273, 2. •
