■' ■ ♦_ —_ • • The regular monthly meeting of theKospitsl i Trustees was held yesterday afternoon, and was attended by Messrs Miller (chairman), Robin, Wills, Wright, Carroll, and Green. ' BBPORTS; The House Committee reported, that Mr A. Smith had been appointed fireman to the institution, and that he went, on duty on the 22nd of l&sfc month. The Education Board had granted permission to cart clay from the site of. the Middle^ District School to fill up ylaces j adjoiaing the new laundry. Mr James" Casey's tender for carting the clay at lid a yard had been accepted. '.The new laundry was occupied on the 26ch April, snd the laundress and wsrdm*id were transferred to their new quarters.— Adopted. The Finance Committee reported that salaries and accounts for the month of AnrilamouDting to £511 6s 3d had been passed for waymsnt, subject to the approval.of the trustees. The receipts for last' month were as follows.:—lnpitieatß, £93 17s 6d ; outpatients, £7 ; donations, £6; sales, £3.153 4d; students' fees, £22 2* ;—total, £132 14s lOd. The receipts for the present; month to date were:—lupatients, £38 12s 8d; outpatients, £3 9s; Industrial School (medicine), £3 8s; H.M. Gaol (medicine), £5 Is 3d; students' fees, £15 15s; bequest, £50; sales, 18a ;—total, £117 3s lid. The bank pass book sbowed a credit balance of £288 6s lid, which, with cash in hand (£57 16a 8d), totalled to £3*6 5s 7d. The amount to the credit of thg Campbell bequeet was £477 17s. An account for £17 10s for a weighing machine was submitted. The building fund account showed a debit balance of £761 8s 3d. A bequest of £50 had been received from the executors in the estate of the late Mrs Blacildowie. The sum of £378 11s 5d would be required from the Hospital Board for j the payment of salaries and "accounts for the ! month of April.—Adopted, the bequest of £50 | to be paid into the bnildiag account. Drs Colquhoun and Davies reported that they had examined by means of a written paper and ■viva, vacc the following nurses, and that they had all satisfied the examiners that they were competent to act as nurses; —Nuraes Mathesou, j Bryce, Garden, Lowes, French, and Becking- j sale. The doctors also reported that Nurses ! Stewart and Ross had passed the necessary j examination. fiSiss Fraser, the matron of the ! hospital, was present, and assisted at 'the j examinations.—Report received, and the hos- ' pital certificate to be issued to the first six ! named in the report I CORRESPONDENCE. !
