Auckland, Maiy 15.: At a meeting of the Women's Liberal League, Seld last night, a resolution approving of old age .pensions was carried, and also one approving of the scheme of th 9 Canterbury Progres- j sive Liberal Association. Mrs Hendre read a j paper on the projected colonial scale of payment of teachers, pointing out the inequalities ! and injustice to female teachers which would result if this aoale weis adopted. A motion in favour of equalising salaries was unanimously carried. At a meeting of the Women's Political League a resolution was passed requesting the Government to pass legislation of such;a character as would place both sexes on an equality as regards breaches of the marriage bond and divorce, and also to increase tlae power of the police in dealing with the social evil and honses of illfame Both commissioners (Messrs R. P. Ponnefather and J. E.
