Nelson, March 12.
At the Wesleyan Conference to-day a letter from tho Christchurch Prohibition League waß read asking for a ruliiig that bo liquor-sellers or members of jockey c!ub3 be allowed election to offices in Christian churches. After discussion the conference decided, on ths motion o£ the Rev. Mr Morley, to reply that the position of the Wesleyan Church in reference to temperance acd gambHng was sufficiently defined in the resolutions of the General Conference and the annual conference for years past.
