CYCLE RIDING.

TO THE EDITOB. Sic, —Now that the use of cycles has become so general, is it not the imperative duty of the City Council, in the interest and safety of the citizens, to pass a by-law setting forth the conditions under which those noiseless machines mas be used at night time ? I have heard many atones of narrow escapes after dark, and was myself nearly run down ths other night in George street by a boozed cyclist, who sounded no hell and showed no light. A machine Ravelling at the rate of oight miles op more an hour is capable of inflicting serious if not fatal injury to old people. Hoping you will ventilate this genuine grievance, —I am, &c, King etreet North, February 20. B. G.
