(Pee United Press Association.)
CHBisTOTtmcH, January 23.
At a raeetipg of the .Hospital Board to-day some discussion took place with regard to tha vote of £1500 put on the Supplementary Estimates last session for the board. It was stated that the board bad not yet got it, and the time was approaching when it would lapse. Several members expressed the opinion that the local members were very lax in the matter. The chairman said it was now urgent that the money should be got, as it was a serious matter that the usefulness of the institution should be impaired by want of funds. The hospital was overcrowded, and many cases bad to be sept pat before they should be in order to make room for more serious ones. Reference was made to recent correspondence in the Star, in which charges were made respecting the management of the hospital. After discussion it was resolred to ask Dr MacGregor, inspector of hospitals, with the House Committee, to hold an inquiry.
