CITY POLICE COURT.
Monday, January 21. (Before Messrs H. F. Hardy .md G. P. Farqunar. J.Fs.) Drunkenness.—For this offence James Cook, against whom there wa3 one previous conviction, was fined 10s; in default, 48 hours' imprisonmeat. Tiiree first offenders were convicted and discharged. Wandering Cattle.—Alfred Leach pleaded guilty to allowing two cows to wander at Ravensbourne on the 12th inst, and was fined 53. without costs. a ' An Unregistered Dog.—For Keeping an unregistered dog Samuel Burton was fined 10s, without costs. Provoking Language, &c.—Mary Carrie wai charged with using provoking language towards Bridget Agnes Morel! on the 15th inst. —Mr Han« lon appeared for the complainant, and Mr J. Mount for the defendant.—The case was ad« joumed till Wednesday in order to enable defendant's witnesses to be present. An action for assault by Mary Currie against John Morell was also adjourned until the same day.
