THE WAIRARAPA OVERDUE.
(JPfin United Press Association.) AncKLAND, October 30. Some anxiety is Mfc regarding tho Wairataps, now overdue from Sydney. She left Sydney on Wednesday last at 6 p.m., and was therefore, due at this port early yesterday morning, The Rotoraahana, which left 24- hours after theWairarapa, arrived at daylight to-day, and reports having seen no sign of the Wsirarapa; fior has , any word been received of the overdue steamer being on the coaet this morniDg. It in considered that some accident mußt have happened to the machinery of the Wairarapa. The wiud on the first day after'the Kotomahana, left was strong from the north, but afterwards fine with light ocas. It is considered probable that w« shall £cst hear of the Wa:rarapa being sighted somewhere in the vicinity of C*pe Howe.
