OTAGO RUGBY UNION.
A meeting of the recently elected committee of the Otsgo Ru^by Football Union was held on Saturday evening, and attended by the President (Mr K. Chisholm), Professor Sale, Messrs Chalmer, Montgomery, Cran, Matheson, Torrance, Monkman, Beadle, and Hutchison. A quantity of correspondence was dealt with, including a letttr from Messrs Neiil and Co. (Limited), on behalf cf T. C. Williams Cornpiny, of Alrginia, offering a challenge thield, to be called tbe "Juno" Shield, for competition among the senior clubs. It was resolved to dec-ice the offer with thanks, the opinion of the committee being that the establishment of such a competition would not be in the best interests of football. Arrangements were made for the publication, as usual, of the O.R.F.U. Annual, and in connection with that subject it was reported that a number of clubs had not yet furnished the secretary with a list of their office - bearers for the year or their records for the past season, which, with the fixtures for the present season, are required from clubs to make the publication 83 complete as possible. It was decided that in future the committee should meet weekly on Monday afternoons.
