DUNEDIN SHORTHAND WRITERS' ASSOCIATION.
A meetiDg of the above association was held last week iv their room, Occidental Chambers, when the following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr George Fenwick; vice-presidents, Messrs Mark Cohen and J. Crosby Smith ; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. H. S. Macaulay; librarian, Mr W. C. Walker; reporter, Mr p! Hercus; committee—Miss M'Ada-n, Messrs S°. C. Cope, W. H. Mathews, J. Garrow, G. D Boss, S. Briagman, A. C. Beggjun., C. P.ogersi J. Abernethy, A. Walker, W. A. Nottman, and G. Barclay. It was decided to open the association for the winter session on Monday next, Last year,a number of lady members.were enrolled, and with the increasing popularity of typewriting and shorthand amongst the fair sex the committee expect quite a large accession to the membership of lady writers this session. A reader will be in attendance every evening, and thus afford members opportunities for increasing their speed iv the winged art.
