The following notices of motion appear on the Order Paper, for Wednesday's meeting:— His 'Worship the Matior to move—"That the council resolve itself into committee to consider the propriety of rescinding the following resolution; passed upsn'the Sth of December last, when deciding' upon Mr A. Lee Smith's offer to sell certain sections in Daridas street— viz;, 'that the offer be declined,'—and to resolve: 'That it be-remitted, to the Beserves Committee to take action with a vieWjOf.purichasing the three sections' in Dundas ;street recently offered for sale" to the', council, at a price'not exceeding the sum of £■.'" ..-,- CrTooMßYt6move---"lhat,'inasmuch as it is desirable that the whole of, thejime oi the City Valuator-should in future be*" devoted to the work of the council, be it. resolved that the present valuator receive notice that his engagement with the council will be terminated atone month from this^ate, and that applications be forthwith invited' from gentlemen willing to fill the office upon these terms, at a salary of ; £275 per annnm."■.'"'
