THE STEAMER TAUPO.
(Peb United Paass Association.) Wellington, September 29. The s.s. Taupo left Greymouth on Saturday night for Lyttelton, and was seen outside Wellington heads by the Penguin on Monday night. Nothing having been heard of her some anxiety was felt about her this afternoon, and the Union Steam Ship Company had arranged to send the steamer Waihi out to-night to search for her, but all anxiety was allayed on receipt of a telegram from Kekeraugu this afternoon stating that the Taupo passed there at 4 p.m. heading south. She had been sheltering iv Port Underwood. The captain of the Waihi also reported that he had seen a vessel, which he took to be the Taupo, coming out of Port Underwood at midday.
