SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The monthly meeting of the Albany street School Committee was held last evening, and was attended by Messrs Barnett (chairman), Toomey, Fredric, and Shepherd. The head master reported that the number of pupils on the roll was: Boys, 380; girls, 360 ;—total, 740. Accounts were passed for payment amounting to L 6 5s 4d. It was stated that the penny savings bank was re-opened that day, and would be open eveiy Friday between 2.30 and 4 p.m. It was resolved to vote for Messrs I. Green, J. W. Jago, and G. Reid for the vacancies on the Education Board. The balance sheet of the Albany street and Union street Schools' joint concert and picnic was laid on the table, showing a balance in favour of the committee of 3s fid.
