South Dunedin Council's clerk wrote notifying that that body could not see its way clear to reduce the price for half-right of water mam, but they would grant au extension of 14 days before carrying out the resolution re cutting oft the water.-It was resolved-" That a meeting of ratepayers be held at the council chambers on Monday, Bth inst., to consider whether thecouncil should pay half-right of South Dunedin water

The secretary of the Ocean Beach Domain board wrote notifying that that body had voted the sum of LlO as a subs dy towards the e\n. i-sps incurred by the St. Kilda Council iv the eSion of fencing in four gaps of the sandhills.-The letter was received.

lie Inspector reported that the box drain in J-orbury road had been broken into in three places so as to allow the water to How into private property, and he had been informed that this had beeu done by the Caversham Council. He examined the outlet of the box drain at St. Clair beach, and found it choked with sand. The natural watercourse running through Dr Coughtrey s property was blocked in the Forbury 1 ark Land Company's ground, and he thought the company should be requested''to keep the watercourse on their grouud open so that the flow of the water into the borough drain on the Royal crescent should be unimpeded:—The report was adopted.
