(FROM OUR OWM CORRESPONDENT.)
Lawrence, February 2. A serious accident happened to Cobb's coach between Rae's Junction and Island Block. The king-bolt broke, and the horses bolted with the forepart of the coach. Mr James M'lntosh (the driver) was thrown out against the bank. Mr Brownlee, of Dunedin, was precipitated over him, but he fortunately escaped without serious injury. M'lntosh was badly hurt, and was evidently dragged by the horses for some distance, as he was found in the middle of the road. Mr and Mrs Peters, of Roxburgh, were injured—not, it is believed, seriously—as also was a lady, whose name is uiiknown, from Alexandra. Dr Nicoll, from Lawrence, went at once to the _cene of the accident, and did all he could for the sufferers. The coach, with passengers, is expected about 9 o'clock to-night. M'lntosh remains unconscious at M'Kay's house, near where the accident occurred.
