FIRES.
(Per United Press Association.)
Auckland, December 15.
Lang Bros.' creamery at AA'aiuku was destroyed by fire at midnight. The fire originated from ashes placed in a box. There was no insurance. Fortunately 100 boxes of butter were sent out from the factory yesterday.
A drying shed, the property of Mr E. J. AA'orsdell, was burnt down at the North-East A'alley between half-past 5 and 6 o'clock yesterday morning. A milkman who passed the place about 5 o'clock states that the place then appeared to bo all right, and half an hour after it was discovered to be on fire. Mr AA'orsdell appears to think that the fire was the result of design rather than accident; but suspicion does not rest on anyone iv particular. The shed was a small, two-roomed building, and it ami the contents are valued by Mr AVorsdell at about LIOO. There was no insurance.
