There wsb a large attendarce at the City Hall last eveniug on the occasion of the entertainment in aid of the fond being raised to pay the: expenses of sending the Alhambra Football team to Wellington. Mrs Israel had to submit to an encore for her number, Laurence Kellie'B " Douglas Gordon." Miiß Blaney and Mr Jago sang Bmart'a pretty duet," When the wind Dlowa io from the sea." Messrs Marsden, Umbers, Jago, and Xoung (the Sounds qnartet party) gave a . oouple of part songs. Among the most enjoyable Items pf the evening was Mr T. Chapman's cornet solo, "7!acmta MHartmaun). M?A. C. Hanlon created a highly favourable impression by the Bdmirab_e manner in whioh he recited "The Progress of Madness."
