THB KAWAUAU BIG BEACH COMPANY.
TO THB EDITOII.
Sir, —If you will kindly permit me, I will call tbe attention of the shareholders of the K»warau Dredge Company to the fact, on tbe showing of Mr J. A. Chapman, secretary, that tbe term of the last arrangement of the shareholders expires on Tuesday, the 9th inst. I wish them to note this. What has this dredge done during her two months' probation ? She has maasged to get capsized. This is all she has done; and it is the beat thing she ever did, if she had only kept that interesting position, which would have paid tbe shareholders better than when afloat in & normal condition. Without some propitious revolution, of which there is no prospect, this dredgo is a losing game; and if the shareholders allow it to be played any longer, they have themselves to blame. Unless a stop be put to it, there will ba calls, but no returns—further loss, bat no compensation. Of this the past failure of this dredge is a demonstration. If the shareholders went more proof, they will get it in direct appeals to their pockets.—l am, &c,
