William said he was sorry to see acensed there again, as ho was before the conrt on the last occasion on which he was himself ou the benoh. He had been in prison 124 times, and had spent 20 .years there. He had been told that prisoner was employed as barber in the gaol; in fact, he was known as the prison barber. He (Sir William) would make it his business to see the visiting juatireß in order that tbo man should be put to real hard labour, whioh would not be as easy as shaving chins.
