Melbourne, July 19. Foley's extensive furniture warehouse in Bourke street has been destroyed by fire. The building was insured for £30,000 and the stock for £6000. The New Zealand Company has a line of £500 on the building, and the National and New Zealand Companies £1000 on the stock. THE STORM KING. Captain Jorgenson in his patent lifeboat, the Storm King, will be welcomed by the pilots on his arrival at Port Philip Heads. A HOTBED OP DISEASE. In giving evidence before the Charities Commission, three doctors stated that the Melbourne Hospital was a hotbed of disease, and asserted that five house surgeons had died from attacks of phthisis, contracted in consequence of the insanitary state af the hospital.
