BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION TRUSTEES.
The weekly meeting of the Benevolent Institution Trustees was held yesterday, and attended by Messrs Solomon (chairman), Carroll, Green, Haync3, Chisholm, Colder, and Brown. 1 The Secretary of the local Exhibition Committee in Waihemo county wroto stating; that there were in the exhibition five bags of grain, oatmeal, and flour, also some drain pipes and coal, which he was requested by the owners to givo as a donation to the Benevolent Institution.—Mr Clulee stated that the exhibits had been sent out to the institution; also some coal exhibits from the Vincent and Maniototo counties, which had been given by Mr Albert, who had charge of the courts of the said two counties. —The donations were received with thanks.
The CiuißjrAN reported that there were 198 patients in tho institution last month, the cost of whose maintenance was 53 s£cl per head per week.
Dr Stenhouse forwarded an account containing the following items:—£37 103 for professional services for six mouths; extra services, £S In Od; and 10s for sponges, &c.—lt was resolved to pay £38, and the chairman was authorised to see Dr Stenhouse about the outdoor cases where his services had been brought into requisition. Thirty-two applications for relief were then dealt with.
