ST. KILDA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A DISOBDKSLX MEETING.

Au ordinary meeting of the St. Kilda Borough j Council was held last night, and attended by the ' mayor (Mr Stouhouse), Crs Gore, Skipworth, Mitchell, and Caddie. Mr George Caygill wrote complaining of the state of the drain near Mr Mutton's, on the Prince Edward road. He 9tated that the stench arising from the drain was abominable.—The letter was referred to tne Works Committee. Mr Jnme3 M'Bride wrote complaining that the council had not accepted the loweat tender fo? works at the last meeting. The Mayor stated that it was decided by a majority of the council at Hie last meeting tbnb the second lowest tender should be accepted. Cr Gore said be thought the work should have been given to the lowest tender.

Tho Mayor observed that he would never vote for Mr Jolmbton getting a job in the borough, and he was prepared to stand the consequences ol his action.
