NOTES.

The total attendance at the exhibition yesterday was 4363, comprising 2940 admitted for cash, 1284 on season tickets, acd 139 on exhibitors' aud attendants' passes.

A free orchestral concert was held yesterday afternoon at which tho following programme was presented :—Overture, "Bi>n Giovauni" (Mozart); selection, "Norma" (Bellini); waltz, "Soldaten Lieder" (Guuc'l); saleotion, "Le Prophote" (Meyerbeer); overture, "Taucredi" (Rossiny. '|'h.a ooncart was well attended, and the item's on the programme were all heartily received.

The Kaikorai Band performed the following selections in the building last evening:—March, " Cbef d'CEuvre " (Buleh); euphonium solo, "Schubert's serenade" (J. Hattmanu); fantasia, "Joan of Arc" (H. Round); waltz, " Elfiu Keigin" (Gung'l); polka, '.'. Sprightly " (R. Smith); overture, "Tanrredi1' (Bossiui)waltz," Elcndinette "■ (W. V. Scholes). One of the items net down on the programme for this evening's ooncert, the stirring ballad "Soofcland the free," to beaung by Mr Densem, is the coraposiliou of Mr Charles Braid, of Tunbridge Wells, England, a gentleman npw on a visit to his relatives in this city, BJr Braid, besides being a compose; ci' seine reputation, has had cousiderpblo' agricultural experience, and is so pleased with the farming prospects of New Zealand that he intends on his second visit to the colony about a year hence to bring with him a party of Kentish farmers to confirm his own favourable impressi.QijSj
