LEAP YEARS. TO THE EDITOR.
Sib,—Permit me to draw your attention to an error regarding dates in your issue of Thursday. 26th inst. Therein you state that although the years 1600 and 2000 are leap years, yet 1700,1800, and 1900 are not so. If you refer to " Latham's Perpetual Calendar " you will find 1700 was a leap year. There was a Bimilar mistake in the Witness about a year ago, which I intended to correct; but it slipped my memory. —I am, &c, Caversbam, September 27. W. R. Latham.
