(Per United Press Association.) Auckland, September 9. Mr Daniel Oxley, member of the well-known ship chandlers' firm, died rather suddenly yesterday from an attack of pneumonia-. The Kauri Timber Company have received advice of the satisfactory sale of their first shipment of timber to Glasgow, which has fetched an all round price of 2s 8d per cubic foot. This gives a very good return. Captain Fairchild reports that all the provision depot 3at the Kermadecs were visited and found intact. M Wellington, September 9. Mr U. M. Luekie, commissioner of the Government Insuranco department, is seriously indisposed. The total number of lodges which have now declared in favour of the United Grand movement is 87. The delegates meet on Weduesday next. J Mr Fernandos, fishmonger, Wellington, who has started a factory for tinning whitebait at Westport, will make the first shipment to Australia in about a fortnight. m . . TiaiAßtr, September 9. The jury, in the doublu suicide case, found a verdict of temporary insanity. Deceased were last seen alive on Sunday, August 25, therefore they were probably dead 12 days when the bodies were found.
