Summons to defendant to show cause under section 6 of the Imprisonment for Debt Abolition Act (Mr Kettle). —Mi Stanford appeared on behalf of the defendant, and stated that he had filed iv Christchurch.—Mr Kettle said he wonld aslr for an order all the Fame, and afterwards apply in the Bankruptcy Court for leave to enforce it.—Mr Stanford applied for an adjournment bo that he might receive more specific instructions.—His Honor did not think that Mr Kettle could object to an adjournment, as the defendant, having become bankrupt, could not make away with any of his property.—Mr Kettlo remarked that the bankrupt might make away with his person.—His Honor: If he goes away after filing a declaration of insolvency ho is liable to criminal proceedings.—The summons was ordered to stand over for a week,
