The weekly meeting of the Land Board was attended by Messrs Maitland (chairman), Clark, Dallas, Duncan, and Thomson.

Waxatipo.—The salesman reported that Bus 36, Walsatlpu, liad been offered at auction at a reduced upset price oE £15 per. annum without fiuding a purchaser, aud recommended the board to further reduce the Mpaet rent to £710a.—The recommendation was adopted. • ' ' Otago Peninsdxa.—The salesman suggested that the upset rental of section 53, block 111, Otago Peninsula district, be reduced to £5, the run having" been open since November 1885 at £10 without being taken up.—Adopted. WAitAHVHA West—An application by Mr John Thompson (on behalf of Mr William Din-rant) for a reduction in the capitalised value of deferred-pM-raent section 13, block XI, Waitahnna West district, was refused, the beard having no power to grant it. Mowjt Hyde.—W, P. Singer applied for a license under the Coal Mines Act to occupy one acre of section 18A, block VI, Mount Hyde district, for coal mining purposes, west -of section -18a.—License granted for three years at £2 per annum. . Road Lixbs.—The Clutha County Council asked the approval of the board to plans of road lines on which they propose to expend £H lls 7d,-accruing from deferred payment and perpetual'lease lands between the 28th January and 27th April 1889.—ApSumdby Applications.—The applications of tbe following persons for rural land were approved:— ■ Patrick Jackson Greer, section 18, bloci XIII, Maniototo district, on perpetnal lease; Alexander Kinney, section 13, block 111, Hock and Pillar district, on deferred payment. The application ofWmv - M'Corkindale for village-settlement section 7, blook . XIV, Tuiipeka West, on defatted .payment was approved ; and the applications of William Murray (section 63, block I, Otepopo) and David Brodle (section 40, block VIII, Shotover) to complete the purchase of their deferred-payment lands were also approved. .' ... Butt, on behalf of Mrs A.Forbes, of Waitaki South, applied to lease section 2, block XH.Waitaki Kidge township, for a short period.— The application was declined. : Tuapkka Wkst.—Mr William Smith wrote stating that the bush reserves at Tuapeka West were now the only source for the supply of fencing, firewood, and ruining material,-and asking that the bush be left open, as if it were leased the people of the district would be put to great disadvantage.—The letter was noted.

Awaboho.—Mr X, B. Martin, on behalf of Ann L. Chapman, applied for a lease of SO acres at tbe Awahoho river, at the north-east corner of Hun 5 of 33, and 100 acres at the south-west of the same run, the application being made under section 203 of "Jlhe Land Act 1585," subsection B, in order to secure her improvements. — Heferred to BaDger Hughun to report. Maniototo.-The transfer of perpetual lease section 3. block XIV, Manictoto, fromfimella Pearceto J. B. Cowan, was authorised.
