A sad accident occurred at Eveline this mornflng, by which the 17 mouths old son of Mr John M'Gregor was drowned. About 10 o'clock Mrs M'Gregor saw the boy running about the back door of the house. Four minctes afterwards she .missed him, and running towards a creek a few yards from the house she saw her son floating in tho water, apparently dead. On being taken oat of the creek the boy was placed in a hot bath, but life was gone. A doctor was sent for, and every effort made to restore animation, but without avail. William Ward, an outrider in the employ of Mr S. Bryco, butcher, met Tiith a bad accident this morning. When 'riding along Reed street the horse fell and rolled on him, injuring or breaking one of his thighs. Owing to the limb being swollen ib is impossible to tell until to-morrow tha lull extent of the injuries »us> tamed.
