ROLLER SKATING.
The Palace Skating Rink was well patronised yesterday and last evening. On Saturday afternoon a rehearsal of the march, for the carnival will take place. For next week several attractions are announced. On Tuesday a two-mile handicap race, for which there are 14 entries, takes place. On Thursday the benefit to the Dunedin Engineers comes off. On the following' week the carnival will be held, and the list of those who wish to take part closes in a few days.
The Columbia Rink did good business last night, when there was a large attendance of skaters and onlookers. The final heat of the bandsmen's race will be run off at 9 p.m. on Saturday. Entries are now being received for the hat carnival on the 25th June, and all information afforded. The handsome prizes are on view at Montague's bazaar.
A ladies' race comes off to-night at the Mosgiel Rink, the prize beins a silver name brooch.
