The Loynl Duncdin Lodge held its sdjourned summoned mciitiiis; nl Carroll's Hotel en on tho i!slh nil. Tljo members of the lodge turned up in force, and there was a large attendance of visitors from the I'ort Chalmers, Valley, Cavershaui, Tuapcku, Pioneer, Albion, and Hand and Heart Lodges. Two candidates were initiated, and after the transaction of the u.-unl routine business the auditors' report and the b.itanea sheet for the year ending 31st December were considered. It appeared from the latter that tho lodge had m?.de excellent progress during the year, having initiated 22 persons and added £-127 to its capital. The lodge's accumulated funds now amount to £0424, h.-iing an average of £33 per member, aud of this amount £5855 is lent on mortgage at an average rate nf 7^ per cent. The report and balance shoot were considered highly satisfactory, and after a short discussion were unanimously adopted. G.M. Scoones, on behalf of tho lodge, presented P.O. James Wallaco with a handsomely-framed certificate, and iv doing so spoke very highly of the good sorvkse done by Hro. Wallace while passing through tho various chairs. P.O. Wallace replied in a neat speech, which was loudly applauded. The usual toasts were replied to by P.O. Gihb (Prince of Wales Lodge), K.O. Allen (Valley), N.G. Robertson (Caversham), P.O. Paterson (Hand and Heart), and by P.O M. Ibbotson on behalf of the district. Two candidates were proposed for initiation; and after tho lodge had beon closed P.G.M. Ibbotson took the chair, anil the brethren having partaken of refreshment, tho rest of the evening was spent in listening to some capital singing by several of the members.
