PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
The regular monthly meeting of the Peninsula Road Board was held on Saturday, there being present—Messrs Stewart (chairman), A. M'Kay, E. Inglus, T. Robertson, A. Smail, J. Fairbairn, and Lee.
Accounts were passed for payment for £47 18s Sd. Mr Leu moved and Mr Ingles seconded—"The t the receipt for £60 to Mr J. Robertson be minuted." Carried. — Messrs' Sraail aud Mathesou appeared before the board and requested that 11 chains of the Main road, Tomahawk, fronting Messrs Oraig and Sanderson's properties, be clayed and metalled. On the motion of Mr T. Robertson, seconded by Mr A. Smail, it was resolved that the work be carried out.—The following motions were agreed to:—"That 80 yards of metal be got for Oaklands, and that the surfaceman be set to quarry it; that 140 yards; of metal be got for Highcliff; that Mr Ingles employ a man to carry out certain works on No. 3 road, Highcliff."— Mr A. M'Kay reported re Manse road, that Mr Blatch agreed to adopt the road now in use on condition that the board convey to him the old road; that gates be allowed in the meantime, the board to fence it when called upon to do so, and the road to be put in a proper state of repair. On the motion of Mr Inoles, seconded by Mr Lee, the report was adopted.—On the motion of Mr Ingles, seconded .by Mr T. Robertson,a committee was appointed to inspect Mr Ingles' road. Mr A.Stewart (tho chairman) handed in his resignation of that position.
